Bird Proof Bird Repellent Gel is a long-lasting, non-toxic solution designed to deter pigeons, starlings, sparrows, and other nuisance pest birds from perching or roosting on treated surfaces. This clear, sticky gel provides a humane and discreet method of bird control, effectively maintaining building aesthetics and reducing cleanup needs.
Key Features:
- Transparent formula blends seamlessly with treated surfaces for discreet application.
- Long-lasting protection which remains effective for up to one year with proper application.
- Versatile use - ideal for rooftops, ledges, signs, window sills, gutters, and more.
- Easy to apply and is compatible with standard caulking guns for straightforward installation.
- 1 tube covers approximately 3-4 metres depending on species.
-
Preparation
- Clean surfaces thoroughly using a disinfectant such as GuanoFix to remove debris and ensure effective preparation.
- Allow the cleaned surface to dry completely, as adhesion may be compromised on damp surfaces.
-
Application
- Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun.
- Cut the nozzle at an angle to the desired bead width: 1/4" (6mm) for starlings and pigeons, 1/8" (3mm) for house sparrows. Avoid exceeding these widths.
- Pierce the membrane at the cartridge’s top using a nail or similar tool to allow the gel to flow.
-
Apply the gel in straight or wavy lines, leaving a 1" (2.5cm) gap every 10" (25cm) for drainage:
- For surfaces up to 4" (10cm) wide, apply one bead along the length.
- For 4"-8" (10-20cm) wide surfaces, use two parallel beads spaced 2" (5cm) apart.
- For surfaces over 8" (20cm) wide, apply multiple parallel beads 2-3" (5-7cm) apart or add an S-shaped pattern between parallel beads.
-
Placement
- Apply the gel to ledges, rooftops, window sills, gutters, beams, signs, and other similar structures.
-
Cleanup
- Use vegetable oil to remove excess gel, followed by soap and water.
-
Maintenance
- Reapply the gel if it becomes covered with dirt or debris, as this reduces its effectiveness. Clean the surface before reapplication.
Note: Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance. Avoid application in wet weather or freezing temperatures.
